Caring Team’s

Ministry

Ø      Create and maintain a plan for Community Outreach built around interests and needs as noted on the Time & Talent sheets.

Ø      Manage and distribute donated items.

Ø      Organize food for families experiencing short-term crisis – e.g. death, birth, or illness.

Ø      Arrange for and serve meals after funerals.

Ø      Communicate news and needs of Hope members through our “Tell Everyone Hotline”.

Ø      Provide transportation for doctor appointments, food pantries, etc.

Ø      Visit hospitals and nursing homes.

Ø      Visit homes of people in need or who are homebound – e.g. distribute recorded worship services and communion to shut-ins.

Ø      Caring Basket Ministry

Ø      Send greeting card – e.g. shut-ins, birthdays, get well, sympathy.

Ø      Welcome new babies in our congregation with baskets and baptismal gifts.

Ø      Assist in critical care and crisis situations – e.g. to help with sudden health needs.

Ø      Evaluate present outreach giving and review additional programs as outreach opportunities.

 Our Mission

 Our mission is to spread Christ-centered caring and compassion to our Hope family and beyond. 

Biblical Basis:

 “Bear one another’s burdens and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
                                                                                                         Galatians 6:2

 Vision:

• Foster a loving and nurturing environment for our Hope family, giving everyone a feeling of belonging, thus creating a willingness to take an active part in the work of the church by caring for the people of our community and throughout the world.

Goals for 2005

Short Range:

• Keep our established programs strong and current by promoting them in our congregation.
• Attract new members to our team through our enthusiasm and concern, utilizing the time and talents of all our members.

 Long Range:

• Increase participation in our activities by extending invitations and improved communication.
• Establish new programs to benefit our Hope family and the community.
• Evaluate our established programs on a regular basis.
